(Barrel #15B182) Nose - Lightly spicy herbal vanilla, faint fruity strawberry/cherry candy. Not intense or complex, pleasant, but light.
Taste - Fruity, juicy red berries, light hint of vanilla and caramel. Hint of a watered down mint infused simple and that of a slightly sweet-sour white wine.
Finish - Light sweet bitterness like that of an Asian pear skin mixed with a lightly oaked sweet riesling.
Score - 86/100
Final Thoughts - This rye is a bit odd in terms of the proof, but hey, whatever. Could be an off day for me, but I wasn't able to pick out very many individual components out of this one, but what was there was pleasant. Not super complex, leans a bit towards a fruity rye which is nice. Not super bold, and a little thin on the mouthfeel, but very sippable. I feel as if this might get lost or hidden if used in a cocktail or if you do, make sure the other components are subtle.
