Tasting Notes
"The aroma is of moderate intensity and shows a light char smoke, toasted barley, apple skins and a touch of caramel. Moving on to the palate, the whisky feels soft and slightly slick with a bittersweet yet tangy flavor. There's some lightly toasted oak and a peppery flavor from the rye that shows through, but those are highlights to the barley cereal note. Happily the rye finishing isn't dominating the conversation here. Would say the flavors lean more savory than sweet. It's a bit more nuanced than expected, and a nice whisky overall. However, if you're looking for a whisky to hit you over the head with flavors (and proof), you might be disappointed. (note: review from barrel 006)"
