Nant Bourbon Wood 63% Single Cask Single Malt
Single Malt
Nant // Tasmania, Australia
The Bourbon Wood bottling is part of Nant’s classic collection of single-cask bottlings all aged entirely in the cask described. All Nant whisky is non-chill filtered and absent of any caramel-coloring.
It is made with water from the Clyde river that flows right through the Nant estate, fed by a million-year old glacial river in the Highlands, and uses barley which is grown on the estate itself. Note: The whisky is sold in 500ml sized bottles and is currently not available in the US.

Tasting Notes
"A prickly nose feel is followed by sharp new-wood resin that is jarring, though quickly fading. An aniseed quality appears and imparts itself on all other characters, although the sweet caramel butterscotch that finishes the nose is pleasant enough. On the tongue it is viciously prickly and has a cloying feeling that reaches through the entire mouth and into the nose. This brings with it a somewhat sweet nutty aftertaste of vanilla, peaches and bitter citrus. The vast redeeming quality of the whisky is the finish which is long and smooth with warm sweet and toasty salted malts that carry well. "
