New Riff Kentucky Straight Bourbon Bottled In Bond

Honestly I bought it because the bottle looks cool. Smooth sipping but nothing to pay over $40 for.

If you are buying this bourbon with the mindset you are going to taste something groundbreaking or out of the normal standards to what is expected from Kentucky straight bourbon you will be disappointed. But go into the dram with the mindset of these are going to be aromatics and palate notes that I’m very familiar with and to be considered friends and new riff will give you something that is an well crafted, patient welcome addition to the Kentucky straight bourbon family. If you want something different from them try their experimental series like Winter Wheat whiskey. I would buy again. Great value. Would pick over old bardstown bottled in bond!

Classic bourbon/vanilla notes with a short to medium finish. Very easy drinker in general with little burn. I purchased this at a steal for $25, but I think it is worth the $40 price I usually see it going for as well. New Riff is quickly becoming one of my favorites under $40, in line with BT. I can’t wait to try the SiB/rye expressions from New Riff.
