O'Casey's Irish Cream Liquer

Reviewed December 25, 2020Do you have a weekend tradition? For me, it's a fancy coffee, usually spiked with Irish cream. I adore desserts, but I'm put off by treats that are cloying sweet. Lately, my go-to for Irish cream is O'Casey's. The nose is an "adult" dessert: spiked melted vanilla ice cream with caramel sauce. Had neat and chilled, the flavour profile fits the nose with the addition of subtle baking spice. I find this cream better balanced for sweetness than many other commercial creams. O'Casey's has a rich, but not over viscous mouth feel that feels decadent. I do a little wiggle of delight while savoring the silky finish. If you've never tried Irish cream before, I recommend chilling the bottle, having on ice or in a warm bevvy. 8.25/10
