Diageo's Distillers Edition collection features some of the brand's prominent distilleries. They are made by taking a core bottling from the distillery featured as the base and giving it a secondary fortified wine maturation. For the second maturation, bespoke barrels are created with recharred American oak bodies and charred cask heads made from new American oak.
These casks are filled with the fortified wine for a month and then dumped. Then the core offering from one distillation year rests for up to six month. This bottling is made with Oban 14 Year distilled in 2006 and the wine here is Montilla Fino.

"A taste between the cusp of summer and autumn, the aromas and flavors feel like snacking on shortbread biscuits next to a campfire. Fresh peaches and creamy vanilla are mixed with a waft of burning leaves, with sharp cloves, black pepper and cinnamon adding a spicy finish with a hint of salinity. "
