Oban The Soul of Calypso is one of eight bottlings for DIAGEO'S 2023 Special Releases collection which has a theme of "Spirited Xchange"— celebrating the journey of Scotch, countries and cultures around the world. Selected by Master Blender Dr.
Stuart Morrison, the whisky here was finished in Caribbean pot still rum casks. Bottled at 58% ABV, it's available in limited quantities in the US beginning October 2023.

Tasting Notes
"This whisky has a toasty, sweet, and briny characteristic that is so subtle it could almost be accused of being "sneaky", with a nose that is somewhat richer than the palate. Aromas of pasty dough mix with cooked pear, salty melted butter, and sweet spices. The palate has a creamy, rich entry echoing many of the same elements as the nose, but has more of a spicy bite that mingles with the butterscotch flavors. The brininess sneaks up again right toward the finish, tingling the back of the throat and cutting the sweetness with a faint puff of herbaceous smoke (like smoked rosemary). "
