Octomore 10 Year Fifth Edition (2021 Release)
This 10 Year Octomore bottling was released as the final piece to the brand's 12 series of super-heavily peated single malts. Using Scottish grown Optic barley harvested in 2009, the barley was malted to 90.3 ppm and distilled in 2010.
The first five years of maturation were spent in first-fill American oak barrels. Then the whisky's final 5 years were spent in Spanish Ribera del Duero wine barrels. Only 3,500 bottles were produced.
