The 16th annual series of Bruichladdich's super heavily-peated single malt (80+ ppm) launches in September 2025 with three expressions followed by a distillery only exclusive in November 2025. Like the 16.1 bottling, this 16.2 expression is also made with 100% Scottish concerto barley peated to 101.4 ppm and was aged for 5 years.
However, oloroso sherry & Bordeaux wine casks are used for the initial maturation followed by Madeira and Portuguese Moscatel wine casks for finishing. It's bottled without chill-filtration at near cask strength of 58.1% ABV. Available beginning September 2, 2025. (SRP $244.

Tasting Notes
"Dried tropical fruits are here on the nose along with roasted peanuts, and earthy peat smoke. The palate is barrel spice forward with more smoked nuts aroma. It's chewy and the dried fruits appear at the tail end of the finish. Adding water brings more of the grassy qualities in the peat to come through. Finish is smoky fruit flavored. "
