Old Elk Straight Wheated Bourbon

Honey and nutty on the nose. About the same on the palate. The neck pour on this bottle was awful but it keeps getting so much better.

Floral, toffee, caramel and vanilla nose. Comes in very smooth, creamy and sweet. I can definitely taste the wheat which isn’t overpowering and is nicely balanced by the sweetness. It’s quite unique and I really like the flavors this mash bill produced. It’s got a nice thick mouthfeel and medium finish. Very enjoyable overall.

Glass: Glencairn, rested 15 minutes. Color: Medium amber. Nose: Apple pie with vanilla ice cream. Palate: Graham crackers, apples, caramel. Finish: Medium with some heat. Splash: No new flavors are revealed. Overall: 8/10 - A great sipper at 92 proof.

Smooth start to finish with little to no spice/burn, if any, it'd be a cinnamon spice. While sweet and vanilla, it almost has a leathery undertone to them.

Sweet smooth and some heat. Very pleasant and enjoyable. Will definitely enjoy this bottle and look to try some of the other Old Elk bottles
