Old Forester 150th Anniversary Bourbon (Batch 01)
Bourbon
Old Forester // Kentucky, USA
Old Forester 150th Anniversary Bourbon Batch 01 is one of three batches released to celebrate the date in which founder George Garvin Brown sold the first bottled bourbon. Brown changed the whiskey industry by selling his whiskey in bottle rather than by the barrel as was the custom. Master distiller Chris Morris selected 150 barrels for this bottling and at maturation, several had lost all its liquid to the angel's share.
Master taster Jackie Zykan batched the three bourbons, each of which are unfiltered and bottled at batch strength. Batch 01 consists of 46 barrels and is bottled at 62.8% ABV.
