Old Forester 1920 Prohibition Style

Neat didn’t work for me, not there yet. Two rocks and a little time and this was fantastic. Strong vanilla nose, orange and citrus.

With a CLE Connecticut cigar by a fire.

Brown sugar, caramel/ burnt sugar, vanilla frosting and just a little ethanol on the nose. Maybe some anise? It’s sweet. Soft skinned fruit (pear) and spice on the palate. Cinnamon and banana nerds? Total mouth coating finish that lingers for a full minute. Overall, not super complex - it goes from sweet and delicate to spicy and punchy, but it’s really, really good.

Not a lot of heat given its high proof. Lots of burnt sugar and oak with a decent amount of spice to balance. I don’t tend to favor spice but the sweetness helps with balance. Taste is basically Woodford Reserve Double Oaked plus spice. I prefer the double oaked but this is good.

It has a nice cinnamon note and with a little spring water added it's a smooth sipper
