Taste: Neat in glen cairn, 1 oz., then with drop or two of water.
Nose: (4.5) Warm cornbread and butter are front and center. Sweet and fragrant with some strawberry jam. Intense and distinct with very little detectable ethanol.
Palate: (4.75) Super rich and decadent. The jam is more pronounced and then gives way to thick banana pudding drizzled with caramel. Heat comes in at the back end with smokiness. Flavors are wonderful for a 4 yr. old and will be better if they reserved some stock to age longer. Cant wait to try this if gets to 6-7 years.
Finish (4.75) Loooooong pleasant one here, oak, candy corn, buttery pancakes with syrup that gradually fades to burnt brown sugar making me want more.
Overall: Craft whisky is usually crap whisky. Too young, too similar to everybody else, and underwhelming. Not this one. This is a hit. I will be watching and waiting for more of this one.
