I cannot disrespect the national drink of Greece especially when given as a free nightcap

Its like absinthe without the fire of high proof.

Harsh and one-dimensional anise liqueur.

Nice anise flavor.

Very smooth. Sweeter, with stronger anise. I prefer some of the others, but harder to find in the US

Floral and anise nose, clear in the glass with coating legs. In the mouth, viscous but not overly sweet. Strong anise and herbal flavors that shine through, with a little pepper and heat in the tail. Finish is more the same, with a light sour grapes aftertaste. Add ice or water, and it louches nicely (becomes cloudy milky white), and the flavor becomes sweeter (still clearly anise) with less bite. Have been drinking this since the 1970s, off and on. Gotta love anise to appreciate this.
