Pendleton 1910 12 Year Rye Whisky

Nail polish up front. Spice. No green flavor. Seems hot for 40 proof. Not much rye taste. Meh

A search through the nose and palate reveal nothing but caramel/sugar. Struggle as I may, no rye or baking spice noted. Nothing remarkable on the finish. Truly a 1-note hitter. Drinks more like a cheap rum than a whiskey.

Neat it has a great mentos, mint, rye aroma. However at proof it is pretty bland. The finish is the only thing that builds. That said, upon addition of purified water, notes of chocolate and leather surface, maybe even a bit floral with a hint of rose water.
