Cragganmore (2016 Special Release)
Cragganmore // Speyside, Scotland
The no-age-statement bottling in Diageo's 2016 Special Releases is this single malt from Cragganmore. The distillery was founded in 1869 by a former manager of other well-known Speyside producers like The Macallan, Glenlivet, and Glenfarclas distilleries. For this expression, refill American hogsheads, rejuvenated American hogsheads, and ex-sherry European oak casks were utilized during maturation. It is bottled at 55.7% ABV.

"A sweet nose offers candied fruit, with crème brulee, vanilla custard, and citrus zest. A somewhat oily palate then reveals peaches and cream, spice and black pepper, and a touch of hay, all followed by a distinct peanut-brittle note. A smooth, flavorful, and overall easygoing finish then follows, with a bit of heat."
