Pernod Anise Liqueur
Pernod // France
Pernod Anise Liqueur, often just called Pernod, is a liqueur made with star anise and fennel along with other herbs. It was created in 1920 without wormwood after absinthe was banned in 1915. As is common with anise liqueurs, this will become opaque with the addition of water. Please note: Pernod Absinthe is sold today and is a separate product from this anise liqueur.
Anise LiqueursLiqueurs flavored with anise, licorice, and/or fennel along with other ingredients. Some countries are well known for theirs such as Greece (ouzo), France (pastis or anisette), and Italy (sambuca). They often turn cloudy when water is added.
