Cousin to Rittenhouse BiB rye, both Heaven Hill products (along with Larceny)(among others) great rye, creamy, just the right amount of spice. Maryland style rye. Great straight. $47.00 with taxes northern Virginia. Rittenhouse is half the price and just as good to me.
Creamy with a bite in the back of the throat
Unfolds on your palette like a blossoming Peacock
Makes an exceptional Manhattan with black walnut bitter and excellent vermouth
This definitely highlights the rye over sweetness factor. For a rye, it’s rare for me to get one where the flavors even out in smokiness and sweetness, though. This is a rye I like to use to make for a little twist on an old fashion. And I just keep coming back to it.
