Pikesville Straight Rye

One of my favorites a must try.

Instant classic for me. Not just another rye. Greater complexity, character, intensity. I use it purely for drinking straight and probably my reaction to it evolved a little over the first couple tries. Also found the sweet spot of how to sip: for me it’s add a drop of water—pretty high proof to simply go at it completly straight—but doable if sips are small. Not cheap at about $57 but seems worth it.

A burst of citrus and orchard fruits on the entry, and a nice spice and rye grain on the finish. The mid palette seems muted, almost missing.
