Plantation Rum Guyana 1999
Plantation Rum // Guyana
Plantation is a collection of rums sourced by the Maison Ferrand brand. Some of the rums are vintage-dated as is this bottling which was distilled at the Diamond Distillery in Guyana. Distilled in copper stills, the rum was then aged in refill American whiskey barrels before being transported to Cognac. The rum was then re-casked in a former cognac barrel and aged further for at least a few months.
Aged RumRum that is aged, but no specific type or size barrel required. No set time required for length of aging, but will often carry an age statement (which should be taken with a grain of salt). Often thought of as "sipping rums".

"With a moderate aroma of funk, you can find some bitter chocolate, mashed fruit-cocktail-salad, and burnt matches. Slightly slick on your palate, the sweet factor is balanced nicely with barrel spices."
