Plantation 'The Collector' Jamaican Rum
Aged Rum
Plantation // Jamaica
Alexandre Gabriel of Maison Ferrand and his rum team recreated this limited edition bottling from a sample given to him by Steve Remsberg, private rum collector for whom this is named. That rum sample was a long out of production Jamaican rum that Remsberg deemed one of the best rums in the world. A blend of very old and rare rums distilled in 1996 and 2000 in a combination of Blair column and John Dore pot stills were utilized in its creation--all produced at the Long Pond Distillery.
The rum was aged in ex-bourbon barrels for 17 years in Jamaica with an additional year of aging in ex-Ferrand cognac barrels in France. All proceeds from the sale will be donated to the newly founded Ferrand Plantation Foundation at the Château de Roissac in France. Only 999 bottles are available beginning sometime in 2019 in 200ml sized bottles.
