Pure Kentucky XO

Very solid Willet offering. Not as good as Weller 12 or the Purple Tops but very good for the price. Thanks @Kyle-Metes-Randolph! @jdjmad

This one starts off very interesting. Nose has baking spices, caramel, some slight ethanol, and then some faint hints of dark fruit, possibly apples. The baking spice and fruit continues on the palate along with some burnt sugar. The finish is medium, but not hot or spicy, but lingers pleasantly and has a nice full mouthfeel.

Nose: Nutty, oak, molasses Palate: peanuts + shell, oak, char, peanut brittle, moderate proof, could use a bit more depth, but what’s here is bang for the buck Finish: short to moderate, stays sweet and salty

Multi-layered, complex, rich bourbon with a spicy finish
