The somewhat strong alcoholic nose (though not quite Courvoisier strong) has orchard fruit, particularly apple juice, surrounded by baking spice; think hot apple cider. These flavors are fully accounted for on the palate as well, joined by juicy dark fruit, peach, and raisin. It finishes spicy and a bit dry. A delightful after-dinner drink for any season. This, along with the Sagittarian iconography, has earned Remy the esteemed position of my "house Cognac", with this bottle currently in rotation with the 1738.
