Botran No. 18 Rum is produced in Guatemala using first-press sugarcane juice, known as virgin sugar cane honey, rather than molasses. The sugarcane is grown on the Pacific south coast and distilled before aging in the Guatemalan highlands.
Botran uses a “dynamic aging” system, a variation of the solera process, blending rums aged 5 to 18 years that matured in American whiskey, sherry, and port casks. The rum is certified as Ron de Guatemala, a protected designation of origin. (SRP $44.
