Definitely a go-to bourbon, quite different from the fruity, floral, spicy bourbons I've tried. Thick on the palate, my first inclination was that I was drinking vanilla cake. Heavy on the baking spices (nutmeg, vanilla, etc.), this one is sweet but not overpoweringly sweet, if that makes sense.
Minimal burn until the end, so this definitely fits in the pantheon of "smooth" bourbons. From a texture perspective it's definitely got a unique mouth feel, with the oily consistency standing out more than most of its contemporaries that I've tried.
This belongs on my shelf always. A nice change of pace from my typical bourbon favorites.
