Sagamore Spirit Barrel Select Rye

I am loving this. Terrific toasted flavor with a spicy forward. Terrific vanilla flavors and creamy texture. Finish is a little light but the absolute smoothness of this 55% abv makes it all worthwhile.

Nice nose, sweet fruit. Taste is very grainy, it’s definitely a rye. The proof doesn’t seem to help it. Ice helps to mellow and bring out some vanilla. Without the ice is a little astringent. Medium long finish.

Barrel 178, location Floor 6, Rack 9. Nose is all slice and herb. Lots of rye, with some caraway seed, lots of barrel character, and a black licorice finish.

Amans pick 110 N: brown sugar, herbal, honey, dried apples T:baking spices, apple, fennel seed, gingerbread F: sweet molasses, spice low in chest Reminds me of a michters rye baking spice but amplified. Drinks easy for 110. Opens up after time sweeter

I really like this, nice creamy palate, classic rye profile that’s very loud, which is nice. After it opens, palate is like a creamsicle. Very nice.
