Saints Alley "The Herald" Bourbon

Slight smoke. Light oak. Smooth for the proof it is.

N: prominent sweetness and fruit, orange peel, grape/wine twinge T: matches the nose, sweetness up front, not sugary more sweet fruit, spice at the back, mildly tannic, a little younger oak F: moderate finish, spice lingers, not a ton of complexity, medium viscosity not super oily or coating Pretty balanced, but a little more age would help the bourbon stand out I think, the armanagac is more prominent here to me with just some spice

From the first whiff to first sip is all concentrated on that Armagnac cask, but in mid palate is where you find a bit of peanut note with a bit of Texan hug. At the finish is an unmistakable fruit note that at this current moment I think it’s a grape note that is combined with candied orange. It’s definitely a bit younger than I would have preferred and that’s why I couldn’t give it a perfect score, but the flavor is just so unique. If this is available readily near me, it’s a must stay on my bar at any time.
