" The Smith family, from South Australia's Barossa Valley, began distilling in 1931.
Smith's Angaston 8 Year is a revival of a whisky Samuel Smith & Son sold in the 50's through the 70's called "Smith’s Imperial Vat Whisky." The Smith family, from South Australia's Barossa Valley, began distilling in 1931. This single malt, first distilled as an experiment to test out the old equipment and recipe, was produced in 1998 using the original pot still from 1931.
