Smooth Ambler Contradiction Rye

Excellent for the price; was looking for something over 100 proof for under $40 and I was pleasantly surprised. I’d describe it as having a rather light body, with a lot of good notes I’m not experienced enough to identify.

I am partial to this brand being from WV but that didn’t impact my rating. Has a strong cinnamon nose with some fruity ness. On the pallet you get that cinnamon from the nose and a slightly sweet initially and then you get the rye spice like peeper on the back end. I really liked this and for the price it’s a good everyday Rye drinker.

Quick burn to begin, goes down smooth

Solid rye flavors with a great proof. Some sweetness with mild spice. Not my favorite rye but a decent value IMO

Don’t like it. Too much cinnamon. Not a fan
