RyeUnlike bourbon, rye whiskey can be made anywhere in the world. But if made in the US, the mash bill recipe must be at least 51% rye and it must be aged in new, charred oak barrels with no age requirement. Elsewhere, the rye whiskey will be made keeping the country of origin's rules regarding the recipe and minimum aging.

Tasting Notes
"Sonoma County Distilling's Cherrywood Rye (batch #2) combines an unusual mashbill with an even more unique smoke flavor. The spice of rye combines with heavy smoke contributed by cherrywood-smoked barley bringing with it notes of dried fruit and BBQ. Robust vanilla helps take the edge off the stronger flavors of the spirit. Smoke in spirits can be divisive, and this rye probably isn't for everyone. But those who enjoy a smoky profile and American styles of whiskey will find a lot to like here."
