Southern Star Double Rye

I found this really smooth a bit sweet neat. After a couple drops of water, i found it a bit more earthy and musty and the rye spice really shone through.

The nose is the only this about this that says: “I am a well-made whisky.” On the nose are hints of honey, floral notes, rye spice. Taste: mint and baking spices that quickly give way to stale, flat sweet tea Finish: short Hard pass.

All I could taste is mint,mint and more mint. No complexity. At $35.00 a bottle, many, many better rye's than this. I read all of the 22 reviews prior to mine. Guess my taste buds are off??
