Springbank 10 Year

Nose: Light, oak, vanilla, smoke. Very gentle on the nose. Palate: Sweet (saccharin), citrus, light spice, nutty/almond, honey glaze, tropical fruit, pears Finish: Short finish. Gently smoky. Citrus, sour apple, light char. Dried cinnamon and nutmeg on the aftertaste. Soft, creamy mouthfeel. Quite a rich dram. This is a session whisky and goes down very well. Not one I would say is particularly remarkable or memorable, but very easy to drink.

シングルモルト。キャンベルタウン。 キャンベルタウンにある3つの蒸留所のうちのひとつ、スプリングバンク。フロアモルティングと呼ばれる製法。これは2日間水に浸した大麦を床に広げ、4時間毎に攪拌し、麦の発芽によって発生する熱を均等にするもの。この間窓は開け放たれているので、海風と言った周囲自然環境からの様々な影響を受ける。そのためか一般に塩辛いと評される。 初めは青リンゴのようなさっぱりした香りがくるがその後にバニラ香。味わいはその塩辛さゆえかしっかりとしたコクを感じる。 ストレートでしっかり楽しめる一品。

Wood on the nose, rich and a bit peaty flavour. Not much smoke and zero sweetness. The richness increases the score.

Lightly peated. Feels stronger than 46% ABV. I get some orange peel on the medium long finish.
