Reviewed January 25, 2026 (edited February 14, 2026)Springbank's 'wee beastie' - an unnecessary experiment or a long overdue addition to their core range? On the nose, honeydew melon, lemon peel and persimmon are intertwined with sourdough, marzipan and a touch of ice wine. It's only lightly peated and very clean. Lovely arrival of citrus and tropical fruits, followed by ripe pears, peppery spices and a good amount of peat. An utterly spirit-driven malt without any funk. Sweet pineapple, ash and savory notes linger in the warming finish. It comes down to the quality of their distillate - which is excellent.
