Established in 1938, Stolichnaya or Stoli as it is most often called, was first introduced to the US in 1972. This grain-based (wheat and rye) vodka is manufactured and bottled in Latvia using a rectified spirit tankered in from Russia. It is filtered through Russian birch charcoal and quartz sand.
This is bottled and sold at an ABV of 37.5-40% depending on your location. .

Water is added to bring the spirit down to as low as 37.5% ABV in the EU and 40% ABV in the US. It is usually filtered, often with charcoal, prior to bottling. It is almost always clear and unaged.

"The aroma is moderately robust with bright grain notes and a gentle citrus backnote. The mouthfeel is round and sweet initially and finishes spicy and crisp. Bittersweet ending. A solid vodka to drink neat or otherwise especially if you prefer robust and not totally neutral vodkas."
