Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey (Discontinued)

Pre-Distiller tasting. Bar pour with a big rock. Single chord of oak and vanilla with some heat. Sipped fine, probably better as a mixer.

Not bad at all, a little on the harsh side though, almost unrefined. Flavor is unique, sweet, almost like an undertone of sour fruit candy! Probably a great mixer, but could use another distillation

Had this after sampling several other various pours. I'm light on details, but the main takeaway was that this is not whiskey I enjoyed. It starts off nice and sweet, but ends with an earthy wet hay note that I find unappealing. I would certainly try this again, but I doubt it would change my overall opinion. Needless to say, I won't be buying my own bottle of Stranahan's Whiskey.

I must enjoy barley because this is good. It stands alone neat or with ice.

Smoky, spicy
