Talisker Distillers Edition

The smaller island Malts seem to have a good balance between some of the best parts each region offers. There is a touch of peat and sea spray both on the nose and down the hatch. The vanilla and almonds are a bit stronger on the nose while some noticeable traces of fruit do reveal themselves after a few minutes of nosing. The color is quite fine for especially for a 10 year old scotch likely due to the amoroso finishing in age. All in all a delicious dram.

Beautiful sweet peat smell. Thick rich body that spreads over the tongue, let's the flavors linger for a very long tail. Balanced peat and sweetness, just like the 10 year. Shares a lot in common with the ten year, which to me is perfect, but I'm keeping it just short of 5 because in gaining the extra strength it loses its balance.
