Ian McLeod Distillers, its new owner, has released a series of Batch Strength marks. This one is aged in European and American oak ex-sherry casks, much of which is first fill Oloroso sherry, and is non-chill filtered.

"It seems these whiskies are still trying to find their voice. The right elements are there - it's creamy, with some pleasing nutty flavors, vanilla and that lovely waxiness Speyside Scotches tend to possess. However, it could use some more gusto to really take control of the mike, even at this higher proof. This would make a decent aperitif dram or something to sip on when lighter styles fit the bill."
