Tequila Ocho Plata "La Magueyera" 2014
Los Altos, Jalisco, Mexico
Tequila Ocho are single estate tequilas that are a collaboration between Tomas Estes and the Camarena family. The name of the ranch is a play on the word "maguey" - another word for "agave." The agaves used in this tequila were harvested at a slightly higher brix level, 27-28%, which is 5% higher than average, and grown in gray clay soil.
Tequila BlancoDistilled from 100% blue Weber agave, it is typically unaged , clear, and bottled straight after distillation. Sometimes rested in stainless steel up to 60 days and can also be aged in wood for no more than 30 days.
"This is a very fresh-tasting tequila, with strong citrus and green pepper notes and a lot of salinity. A smooth, earthy flavor ties everything together, ending in a peppery, mineral, clean finish."
