Tequila Ocho Plata La Ladera Puntas Distiller's Cut 2021
Tequila Blanco
Tequila Ocho // Los Altos, Jalisco, Mexico
This is the first commercial release of Puntas, otherwise known as the Distiller's Cut. It's an overproof plata tequila which is made by taking the end of the heads and the beginning of the heart of the distillate during the distillation process. The tequila comes off the still at 128 proof and it's then cut to 101 proof with spring water from the Tequila Ocho Distillery in Arandas, Jalisco, Mexico.
Like other Tequila Ocho bottlings, this tequila was made from one harvest in one location. In this case the agaves were harvested from the Camarena family rancho "La Ladera" in 2021. Released April 2022, only 600 cases are available in the US and 100 cases for Mexico.
