Balvenie Madeira Cask 17 Year
Single Malt
Balvenie // Speyside, Scotland
This was a limited edition release back in 2009 and it has been discontinued, though you may still find bottles in some retailers and well-stocked whisky bars around the world.
This whisky was aged in traditional oak barrels (read: used barrels) and finished in barrels that previously held Madeira, a fortified wine from the Portuguese island for which it is named.

Tasting Notes
"The nose has a toasted cereal note along with almonds and honey. This follows initially on the palate, but soon your attention focuses on dried fruits like apricots, raisins, and citrus peel. Baking spices jump in the mix and add dimension to the taste. There is quite a bit of depth with this whisky which makes for a pleasant finish."
