Balvenie Single Barrel Sherry Cask 15 Year

Sherry cask, but probably the spiciest sherry cask ive had

👃sweet underripe fruit 👅medium-long finish. Sweet sherry and tobacco spice. Nice long warming finish with a fairly complex body.

This is a whisky for all of us who hunger for truth… For all of us who cry out in pain… For those whose souls yearn to sing. A truly beautiful expression of the Balvenie. A very strange thing happens when you begin to experience this whisky. Dark caramel and honey on the nose. The kiss of soft fruit on the pallet. The finish, reminiscent of a sky black with ashes. Sometimes you don't quite see the elements coming together and then, when it all comes together, there's something magical, something organic and profound.

Was expecting sweet, but this is oloroso sherry, not px, so more nutty and savory. Got a noticeable saltiness from the nose, along with some tanginess like a barbeque chip. Very nice.
