When I first experienced Krupnikas, my mind thinks of Christmas and your classic winter setting. Krupnikas is a unique liquor that hails from Poland and Lithuania. This liquor has been thoughtfully re-introduced by the Brothers Vigalys from Durham, North Carolina. The following is from the back of the bottle and best describes the flavor notes. “The Brothers Vigalys Krupnikas started as a homemade liqueur from an old Lithuanian recipe. Our Krupnikas is made from a blend of whole spices, North Carolina wildflower honey, and pure neutral grain spirits. With a complex yet smooth flavor that starts sweet and builds to a pleasant spicy finish, this is a drink to be sipped and savored. It is perfect on its own or mixed in coffee or ginger ale.” I would add that it is good in hot tea and when you feel a bit of the cold coming on. I highly recommend this unusual drink.
