The Gospel Straight Rye Whiskey
This straight rye whiskey is distilled, aged and bottled in Melbourne, Australia. It's made with 100% Australian unmalted rye which is sourced from a single farm in the Murray Mallee region of South Australia.
After distillation, the whiskey is matured for at least two years in 53-gallon new, charred American oak barrels which are toasted and have varying levels of char. Bottled at 90 proof, this was launched in the US as of December 2021.

RyeUnlike bourbon, rye whiskey can be made anywhere in the world. But if made in the US, the mash bill recipe must be at least 51% rye and it must be aged in new, charred oak barrels with no age requirement. Elsewhere, the rye whiskey will be made keeping the country of origin's rules regarding the recipe and minimum aging.

Tasting Notes
"Aromatically the whiskey shows lots of toasty oak notes, dried herbs, raw apples, sweet tobacco and mint. As you taste, it's medium light in body and more of those tobacco/raisin notes show up along with more mint. There's also a touch of vanilla and char smoke there on the finish, but those flavors are light. It's nice to experience the rye flavors without the whiskey being overly sweet. The finish is a little hot and dry and while it's on the young side, it is still worth picking up. "
