The Lakes Steel Bonnets
Peated Blended Malt
The Lakes // Multiple Countries
Steel Bonnets was released in June 2018 by The Lakes Distillery, an English distillery in Cumbria, which is part of the Lake District. According to the distillery, Steel Bonnets is the first ever blended whisky crafted from both English and Scottish whiskies. At the heart of Steel Bonnets is single malt whisky created at The Lakes Distillery.
Peated Blended Malt100% malted barley from more than one distillery. Dried with peat.
"The whisky starts on plenty of malted barley notes and a good amount of smoke. Still quite spirit-y and metallic, and quite intense. There's a whisper of pineapple sweetness and pear skin in the background. The palate is malty and smoky, accompanied by vanilla and some plastic-esque notes. Some mild spices, slightly drying. The finish is on the shorter side."
