( 8 )

This 48 Year blended whisky is the 4th release from The Last Drop Distillers. The youngest whisky in the blend was distilled in 1965, with others reaching back even farther. Certain whiskies in the blend hail from distilleries which are long closed. In the 1980’s the whisky was re-casked to 1st-fill American bourbon barrels. This is sold in a display case which includes a mini bottle for sampling, if you prefer to keep the actual bottle intact and unopened as only 592 bottles were released.

Tasting Notes

"The nose bursts out at you from the glass, with rich vanilla, honey, baked apples, butterscotch and peaches. On the palate, you’ll find layers of complexity and a soft, velvety mouth-feel, offering more peach and vanilla, oak, and a touch of spice. The finish goes on and on offering a bit of heat and lasting notes of a deep, rich sweetness. "
