Master Distiller Troy Ball is serious about the rare Heirloom Crooked Creek Corn she uses in all her moonshine. North Carolina distillery’s mantra is “White corn for families, yellow corn for animals.” The Troy and Sons Platinum Moonshine is the signature spirit of this small, family owned operation.

Distilled from a cereal mash bill comprised of any grain(s). Generally unaged except in the US, where it must age at least briefly in oak for an unspecified amount of time. Sometimes sold as "moonshine" although that is a misnomer.

Tasting Notes

"This humble whiskey is deceptively complex and satisfying for an unaged spirit. There’s a clean minerality in this whiskey that must be the terroir of the heirloom corn shining through. Quite an impressive feat. The mouth-feel is round and full with flavors reminiscent of macadamia nuts and maybe even water chestnut. It’s tempting to want to use clear spirits in cocktails or over ice, but this moonshine is best sipped neat. "
