Caffo Vecchio Amaro del Capo

2.2.22 Served: Neat, flute, Bottle open: Same Day Aroma: Aqueous. Grapefruit peel and lemon pith. Nasal fatigue allows savory notes of caraway and allspice. Flavor: Starts as grapefruit soda (none of the bitterness of real juice yet). Mids like candied oranges with a syrupy mouthfeel. Finishes with ginger-like spiciness and clean bitterness. Has the same "type" of finish as fernet. Might use the same bittering agent. Elements of: Nonino, Montenegro, Fernet.
