Reviewed July 27, 2024 (edited July 28, 2024)First serving neat On the nose: alcoholic, strong alcohol burns the nose at first. At first I could not distinguish any notes from it, apart from the smokeness of peated barley. There is a little sour in the background, that is hard to explain, but I think it is the influence of the white wine cask finish. Palate: wild and fiery. Spicy finish that makes your mouth watering. I would not say it is because of 46%ABV, I've had 46% before and didn't have this finish. I could feel a bit of orange, but it was very faint. Finish: spicy and long. No special feelings. No special notes. ===== First serving with water On the nose: didn't open well. I still could not distinguish anything but peat. Palate: way smoother and enjoyable. Woody/oaky and a bit sweeter, but that is it. The orange fainted scent that I detected neat is gone. Finish: spicy and long. No special feelings. No special notes. ===== Second serving neat Nose: I could smell green grapes. The sour background is a bit more evident and it smells a bit more medicinal. The burning of the alcohol is gone, and it feels like eucalyptus or menthol. I might be putting a personal memory here, but it is a bit refreshing, remembering me of a pool when I was a kid. Interesting twist. Palate: still wild, spicy and mouth watering. Finish: spicy and long. No special feelings. No special notes. ===== Second serving with water On the nose: still nothing special. Plain generic whisky. Palate: again... smoother and enjoyable and a bit sweeter, but that is it. Finish: spicy and long. No special feelings. No special notes. ===== I am not a professional and It's been a while since I last tasted a whisky, so I might be rusty. Overall it is not a bad whisky, but it surely is far from being a GOOD one. In my opinion it does not worth the price tag and I would not buy again, however I would accept it as a gift and it would take me over a year to finish the bottle.69.9 EUR per Bottle
