Villa Lobos Reposado Tequila
Tequila Reposado
Villa Lobos // Los Altos, Jalisco, Mexico
A collaboration between Carlos Camarena and Dale Sklar, Villa Lobos Reposado Tequila is made with agave harvested from the Camarena family plantations. The process is traditional and artisanal. The agaves are slow cooked in brick ovens and crushed in a mill with added spring water.
Fermentation naturally occurs in wooden tanks and it is double distilled in copper pot stills. The agave then rests in steel tanks for 6 months before it is aged in American oak barrels for up to 12 months. Carlos Camarena personally tastes and selects each barrel before it is bottled at 40% ABV.
