Virgil Kaine Eighth Notch
Bourbon
Virgil Kaine // USA
Eighth Notch is the eighth release from South Carolina-based Virgil Kaine. Named for the final notch in throttle of a diesel train, the bottling begins as a 5 year-old straight bourbon. Discarded vanilla beans are used to create a vanilla smoke which is then placed into toasted barrels and sealed.
The bourbon is then transferred into these vanilla-smoked barrels before vanilla smoke is once again filled in the remaining space. The barrels are then sealed and the bourbon is aged for two months before bottling at barrel proof. Available December 2022 at select retailers.
